Há algumas semanas o site americano Pitchfork lançou seu primeiro guia oficial, o “The Pitchfork 500: Our Guide to the Greatest Songs from Punk to the Present”, que compila as músicas mais importantes de 1977 a 2006 segundo a publicação. A lista é organizada cronologicamente (veja aqui) e tenta fazer um apanhado das melhores e mais influentes músicas em diferente estilos.

Sem dúvidas, a Pitchfork é uma das publicações mais influentes da era pós-MP3, então mais que a curiosidade sobre qual música do Sonic Youth eles iriam escolher, minha expectativa estava voltada para parte final da lista, ou seja, essa década. Como será que as pitchfags veriam a música da década que eles efetivamente ajudaram a construir?

Para minha (uhm) decepção, a publicação olhar mais para dentro do que para fora, fazendo uma lista que, longe de contar parte da história musical dessa década, apenas faz um apanhado das compilações de final ano do site, que são quase sempre polêmicas.

Por exemplo, você não vai encontrar “Seven Nation Army” nem “Fell in love with a girl” na lista, do White Stripes só “Dead leaves and the dirty ground” mesmo. Por mais que você prefira “Rebellion”, Neightbourhood #4 (Power out)”, ou até “No cars go” do Arcade Fire, quem aparece lá é a faixa de abertura do “Funeral”, “Neighborhood #01 (Tunnels)”. Ah, não vá esperando nada de Killers, Coldplay, Libertines, Death Cab For Cutie, etc.

A compilação Pitchfork acabou me levando a pensar no quão difícil vai ser fazer essa lista, a de melhores dos anos 2000. Eu até tentei listar no Orkut (aqui e aqui) as músicas e os discos que me vieram à cabeça, mas acho que muita coisa ficou de fora e algumas escolhas ali são extremamente pessoais.

Por isso, a partir de hoje até o fim de 2009, o e-mail e os comentários (e quem sabe a comunidade do Orkut e o Twitter) do Bloody Pop estarão abertos para quem quiser responder a pergunta:

Quais são os melhores discos e as melhores músicas dos anos 2000?

Durante 2009, a idéia (que vai ser ideia, sem acento logo mais) é ir fazendo uma série de postagens sobre algumas músicas e alguns discos que marcaram (ou não) essa década, como fossem esboços para lista final, que deve chegar só em janeiro de 2010.

É trabalho duro, mas vai divertido e reconfortante fazê-lo. Então, que tal fazermos isso juntos?
